SARTORI/MOTHER,ARTIST, HOUSEWIFE 2014
Performed inside the James Turrell’s ‘Skyscape’ at Tremenheere Sculpture Garden; sewing machine, business cards, chalk, beetroot, chopping board, knife, charcoal, photocopied paper, stones, ribbon, sugar,
Originating from an intention of aural destruction to the peace and harmony of Turrell’s piece an autobiography evolved raising questions on the tensions between the way in which we present ourselves and whom we think we actually are.
Sartori is a play on words illustrating the contradictions between dressing up (sartorial) and Eastern ideals of enlightenment (Satori).
